When making adjustments and additions to your LinkedIn page, it is important to understand your skillset and the things that you excel at. This will allow you to gain a competitive advantage to your peers and to stand out among others to potential employers and recruiters. For example, on my LinkedIn page, I will add my skills that relate to my double major of both Business Management & Organizational behavior as well as Business Analytics. This includes my proficiency in the programs of Excel, SQL, and SAS, as well as my above-average ability in time management as I have been a student-athlete for 4 years. Week 3- FB Page (repost)

In this weeks blog, I will begin to talk about the importance of creating a facebook page for business. Facebook can be one of the more useful ways of creating a page for your business. The Facebook Insights module helps business owners to see where clicks are coming from, as well as how far your page is reaching in terms of consumers. It is important for all business owners to manage and analyze how well the company is doing in terms of its outreach and marketing. The page I created was called Independence Advertising. If I were actually to pursue this business, I would begin by making it look professional, by creating my own brand and launching it. I would begin to share this page on all my social media accounts, which would help me to reach out to nearly 2000 people to get shares and clicks. It is important to be proactive in your work as a social media marketer as well as a business owner.

Week 14- Differences in Social Media

When it comes to Social Media Marketing, it is important for marketers to understand who is their consumer base and who they're trying to reach. It is also important for them to understand the different uses of each social media platform, as these different platforms all contain a certain niche of consumers. This can be used to marketers' advantage as they know who to look for. For example, if you are a social media marketer for ESPN, you would begin work on the platforms that are most known for their sports content and most views and clicks. This would include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even YouTube. This would allow for your company to increase their viewership and followers, which in turn would result in increased revenue.

In this week's blog, I look to highlight the importance of your own personal LinkedIn profile. In today's increasingly competitive society, it is extremely important to separate yourself from your peers. Having a detailed and informational LinkedIn page can help you achieve that goal, as it is more likely you will get hired over someone with a less detailed LinkedIn page. There are many ways potential job candidates can achieve this goal, and it starts with having a resume attached to their profiles. This will allow recruiters to get a better understanding of your experience and skills as they look for people in the job field. It is also important to market yourself in the best way possible. When creating your profile, you should look to have a picture of yourself in which you are dressed professionally, ads this creates a great impression on recruiters. Week 9- SMM Analytics Tools

In social media marketing, the importance of understanding your outreach and areas of improvement is key. In today's day and age, being able to develop a competitive advantage will allow your company to outpace competitors. With that being said, there are many ways of doing this. One option is to invest in certain analytics tools that will help your company understand how well it is performing in terms of outreach. There are many tools that can be applied, but the one I am going to discuss is called SproutSocial. In the picture above, it shows a summary of the capabilities of SproutSocial. This program allows for your company to see how well each social media pages are doing in terms of clicks and views, all on one platform. From Facebook to Twitter to LinkedIn, each and every page can be analyzed at the click of a button. This program is key for any company to use in order to gain a competitive advantage in the market.

In this week's blog, Facebook Insights is highlighted as a very helpful tool in measuring the outreach of your organization. For businesses looking to create their brand and increase customer awareness, it is important to be able to know how well the company is achieving that goal. Facebook insights allows a business to measure how many "clicks" the specific page has been given, broken down by each week and even per day. This program measures how many likes the page has received, as well as how far the page has reached in terms of page views. It is also smart enough to give recommendations on how to increase viewership, and determine whether or not the views are organic or from paid advertisements. On my page, Independence Advertising, I did not put much effort into creating an outreach. Hootsuite is a social media management tool that allows you to keep track and manage all of your social media channels. It allows any of its users to manage their social media profiles all through one easy site. This is a very useful tool that many businesses have begun using in today's marketing-heavy world. Hootsuite is compatible with most if not all social media sites, as seen here. Everything from Twitter to Foursquare, this social media management tool will help you gain a competitive advantage on your competitors each and every day.
